About

André Mancebo Heizer is a writer and filmmaker whose work has been featured at the Florida Film Festival, Gasparilla Int’l Film Festival, Miami Short Film Festival, Austin Spotlight Film Festival, and more. Born in Brazil, his artistic sensibility is shaped by his experiences as an immigrant navigating dual cultures. André’s work examines the psyche of the 21st-century person—the thoughts that keep us awake, the moments that make us feel alive. He explores themes like contained identity, the lingering effects of trauma, passion vs. obsession, existential dread, social inequality, and our messy entanglement with technology. Based in Tallahassee, he is committed to DIY filmmaking that punches up, in telling diverse stories that make you rethink the American South.
